ABZ Precision Health – Terms and Conditions of Service

ABZ Precision Health is a trading name of Newburn Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (SC695324).
Registered office: Carden House, Carden Place, Aberdeen, AB10 1UT.
All services are provided by Newburn Ltd.

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all private medical consultations, treatments, and services provided by Newburn Ltd (“the Clinic”, “we”, “us”).
By booking or attending an appointment, you (“the patient”) agree to these Terms.

1. General Information

These Terms apply to all consultations, assessments, treatments, or services delivered by the Clinic under the ABZ Precision Health brand.

By booking or attending an appointment, you agree to abide by these Terms.

2. Nature of Service

We provide private medical consultations and treatments.

We are not an emergency service.
If you require urgent medical attention (including chest pain, shortness of breath, severe bleeding, sudden collapse, or stroke symptoms), call 999 or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

Our clinicians are registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) or Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) and adhere to UK professional standards.

The Clinic does not act as your NHS GP. You must remain registered with an NHS general practice for ongoing care, chronic disease management, NHS referrals, results follow-up, and emergency or unplanned care.

2A. Restriction on Treating Patients Registered with Newburn Ltd Practices

We cannot provide private medical consultations or treatments to any patient who is currently registered with an NHS GP practice operated by Newburn Ltd, including:

  • King’s Medical Practice
  • Oldmeldrum Medical Practice
  • Newburn Medical Practice

This restriction applies to any condition, symptom, or clinical need that could reasonably be assessed, managed, or treated within NHS general practice, regardless of whether the patient wishes to access NHS care.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • routine illnesses
  • chronic disease management
  • medication reviews
  • NHS referral requests
  • investigation of symptoms typically managed within NHS primary care
  • follow-up of conditions under NHS GP care

Patients registered at the above NHS practices may only access private services that are not provided within the NHS, including but not limited to:

  • longevity and preventative health assessments
  • cardiometabolic testing
  • medication based weight-management programmes
  • medication based hormone optimisation
  • VO₂max testing
  • advanced wellbeing assessments
  • aesthetic medical treatments

This policy ensures full compliance with NHS Scotland regulations and GMC guidance regarding conflicts of interest and dual practice.

3. Prescribing Policy

We do not routinely prescribe controlled drugs, benzodiazepines, hypnotics, sedatives, or any medication with a high risk of dependency or misuse.

All prescribing decisions are made solely at the clinician’s discretion, based on clinical judgement, safety, best practice guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Repeat prescriptions are only issued following appropriate clinical review.
The Clinic reserves the right to decline any request for medication where clinically inappropriate.

4. Referrals

We may provide private referrals to specialists or diagnostic services when clinically indicated.

We cannot make referrals to NHS hospital services or NHS-funded pathways.
If you require an NHS referral, please contact your registered NHS GP.

5. Appointments and Cancellations

Appointments must be booked in advance and are subject to clinician availability.

Cancellations or requests to reschedule must be made at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or non-attendance (“no-show”), will result in the full consultation fee being charged.

If the Clinic must cancel your appointment due to clinician illness or unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative appointment or a refund.

6. Fees and Payment

All consultation fees must be paid at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Fees cover only the consultation unless additional services (such as blood tests, scans, procedures, or prescriptions) are explicitly stated.

We accept debit/credit card payments, bank transfer, and other approved online payment methods.

7. Confidentiality and Data Protection

We process all personal and medical information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Medical records are stored securely and accessed only by authorised clinical personnel.

Patients may request access to their medical records in accordance with data protection legislation.

8. Limitations and Disclaimers

Medical advice is based on the information you provide.
The Clinic accepts no liability for adverse outcomes resulting from withheld, inaccurate, or incomplete medical information.

The Clinic does not provide:

  • insurance or occupational medicals
  • medico-legal reports
  • fitness-to-work assessments
  • expert-witness statements
  • visa medicals

unless separately agreed in writing.

9. Complaints

We take all feedback seriously.

Complaints should be submitted in writing to:
enquiries@abzprecisionhealth.com

We will investigate all complaints in accordance with our Complaints Policy.

If you remain dissatisfied after our internal review, you may escalate your complaint in accordance with our Policy and the appropriate external avenues.

9A. Regulatory Status

Regulation and standards
ABZ Precision Health is delivered by Newburn Ltd, whose directors are experienced NHS GP partners. We have confirmed with Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) that, on the basis of our current service model, independent clinic registration is not required.

Even though formal registration is not required, we align our policies and procedures with HIS standards for independent clinics and with GMC guidance on good medical practice. We keep this position under regular review as services develop.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
